How Taken:
Take Atarax by mouth with or without food. If stomach upset occurs, take with food to reduce stomach irritation. For adults, 50-100 mg daily; for children under 6 years, 50 mg daily in divided doses and over 6 years, 50-100 mg daily in divided doses.
Warnings Precautions:
Do not use Atarax if you are allergic to any ingredient in Atarax. It is not known whether this drug is excreted in human milk. Since many drugs are so excreted, you should use caution if taking this drug while pregnant.
Missed Dose:
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible. Do not take 2 doses at once. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule.
Side Effects:
The side effect can occur if you are allergic to any ingredient in Atarax. But usually the side effects you may experience on Atarax are mild and transitory in nature: dry mouth, drowsiness.
Storage:
Store away from heat, moisture, and light. Store Atarax between 59 and 77 degrees F (15 and 25 degrees C). Keep Atarax out of the reach of children and away from pets.
Overdose:
Seek emergency medical attention if you suspect an overdose. The most common manifestation of Atarax overdosage is hypersedation.
